When shopping for a solar inverter, you need to consider factors such as size, type, efficiency, price, and warranty. We break down what you need to know and pay attention to.

Solar Inverter Dimensions

The best inverter size for your system depends largely on the power requirements of the equipment you plan to run. Be aware that you may be operating more than one unit at any given time - make sure the continuous rating is high enough to handle this. Your inverter must also be able to handle surges from many loads starting at the same time.

To determine the size you need, you should calculate the total wattage you may need at any one time. Then, choose an inverter with slightly higher output power.

An inverter is sized by its maximum continuous output in watts. Again, make sure the inverter is rated for more than the combined wattage of all the AC loads you plan to run at the same time.

Most appliances have some sort of label or owner's manual that should tell you their wattage, but here's a formula to convert AC amps to watts (if you only know amps):

4.How the solar inverter works

A solar inverter works by taking a variable direct current or "DC" output from a solar panel and converting it to an alternating 120V/240V current or "AC" output. The appliances in your home run on AC instead of DC, which is why a solar inverter must change the DC output collected by the solar panels.

6.Solar Inverter Installation, Storage Instructions

(1) Pack inspection
1.1 Open the package of the device, please check the product accessories, including: one host, one user manual.
1.2 Check whether the device is damaged during transportation. If any damage or accessories are found missing, please do not turn on the device and inform the carrier and dealer.

(2) Precautions for installation and storage
2.1 The installation of equipment should be operated by professionals or assisted by local dealers.
2.2 When transporting the equipment, appropriate protective measures need to be taken; when the equipment is moved from a low-temperature environment to a high-temperature environment, water droplets may appear, and it must be completely dry before use to ensure safety.
2.3 Do not expose the equipment to harsh environments such as moisture, flammable and explosive, or a large amount of dust accumulation; do not cover or block the ventilation openings, and reserve an air circulation gap of more than 10CM around the equipment; in order to have good heat dissipation;
2.4 When the device is not connected to the mains and is not in use for a long time, the battery switch must be turned off;

7.How to maintain and maintain solar inverters?

(1) Solar inverter products require little maintenance, and the battery only needs to be charged frequently to obtain the expected life.
(2) If the device is not used for a long time, it is recommended to charge it every 4-6 months. Under normal circumstances, the service life of the battery is 3-5 years. If it is found to be in poor condition, it must be replaced in advance. When replacing the battery, it must be performed by professionals. Batteries should not be replaced individually, and the instructions of the battery supplier should be followed for overall replacement.
(3) Before replacing the battery, the equipment must be turned off, disconnected from the mains, and turn off the battery switch. Remove metal objects such as rings and watches.
(4) When connecting battery cables, it is normal for small sparks to appear at the joints, which will not cause harm to personal safety or equipment. Do not short-circuit or reverse the positive and negative poles of the battery.
